Who We Are
Welcome to Vietnamese Student Association (VSA)!
VSA was first established at Penn State University Park in 1982. Since then, many generations of Vietnamese students have walked to various classrooms, have sat on the lawn of Old Main, and have seen the beautiful sights that University Park has to offer. Nevertheless, because VSA was not sustainable, it was left inactive and was no longer recognized as an official Penn State club.
Many years later, with the efforts of the new generation of Vietnamese students, VSA was fortunately re-established in 2012 by Nghia Nguyen and Phuong Pham. Since then, the number of VSA members have been rapidly increasing, reaching a high of around 100 members. Being reformed relatively recently, VSA still growing in size and are developing in quality. We will still embrace change and look forward to greet new opportunities.

Our Mission
Our mission is to be a strong and sustainable organization focused on the Vietnamese Heritage and Penn State spirits. We seek to stay involved in Penn State activities like Homecoming, THON, and networking with other associations as we provides opportunities for growth and enrichment to our members, alumni, and even prospective members. Most significantly, we usually look for fun and just fun such as dance performances!
Our Vision
VSA's responsibility is to continually present Vietnamese culture to the Penn State community and to enhance the network in which people with a Vietnamese background and those who are interested can get together.
And We Are...
We are the second home for Vietnamese students at Penn State.
